Tarras Vineyards The Canyon Pinot Noir 2021, Central Otago - Limited Availability

A single vineyard wine made exclusively from The Canyon Vineyard at Bendigo and labelled as The Canyon only in vintages when it is exceptional. Beautiful floral aromas with elegant berry fruits, spice and dried herbs. The palate is elegantly opulent with ripe fruits, great acidity, ample tannins and excellent length. Remarkably ageworthy. When opened in its youth, The Canyon Pinot Noir may take a little time in the glass to unveil the full depth of flavours and complexity.

Our 2021 vintage was selected from nearly 600 blind submissions to be served on Air New Zealand's Business Premier Cabins in 2025.

This typically rich, savoury, well-structured red is estate-grown at Bendigo and matured in French oak casks (about 30 to 33 per cent new).   The youthful 2021 vintage (*****) is deeply coloured, mouthfilling, sweet-fruited and savoury, with highly concentrated cherry, plum and spice flavours, a hint of dark chocolate, fresh acidity and good tannin backbone.  Full of potential, it should richly reward cellaring to 2027+.
